Drumming Immersion Workshop in Ubud
March 26, 2021 @ 10:00 am - April 1, 2021 @ 12:00 pm UTC+8
Learn the traditional Djembe drumming style and rhythms from West-Africa, and plug into the spirit of this old instrument.
Join Catur Hari Wijaya for this special drumming workshop starting on Friday, March 26.
On top of the many technical skills that you will develop during the sessions – such as traditional rhythms, tone colour, tempo, and many others – you will also explore the tradition of Djembe in depth to have a better understanding of this old instrument.
Cultural heritage and technical skills are important elements of the African drumming culture. Understanding the past and what transcends it is the key to plug into the spirit of Djembe.
The sessions run in one week – 4 classes of 2 hours.
A total of 8 hours of instructions.
The workshop will end with a special event: a 15min live performance all together (students and teachers)
