The government has finally closed the entrance for Foreign Citizens from the countries that had been infected with the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
The decision was made after issuing Circular Letter (SE) of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force 01/2022 regarding Health Protocols for Overseas Travel During the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Pandemic.
“Temporarily closing the entry of foreigners, either directly or in transit for foreign passengers, who have lived in and/or visited within 14 days a country/region with the following criteria”:
a. Confirmed community transmission of the new SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529 variant: South Africa, Botswana, Norway, and France:
b. Countries/territories that are geographically close to the community transmission countries with new variant B.1.1529: Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, and Lesotho: and/or
c. Countries/regions with over 10,000 confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529: UK and Denmark
However, overseas travelers with the status of Indonesian Citizens may enter Indonesia while still following the strict health protocols set by the government.
The Ministry of Health has reported that the development of cases of the Omicron variant in the country continues to increase. Based on the records of the health authorities, the number of Omicron cases has crossed 254.
