Four planes scheduled to land at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport had to cancel their plans because of bad weather.
It happened after Bali was hit by extreme rain throughout Sunday (12/5/2021) night. The four planes were the Jakarta-Denpasar Super Air Jet, Makassar-Denpasar Lion Air, Citilink Jakarta-Denpasar and one Jakarta-Denpasar charter plane.
Because of bad weather, the Super Air Jet circled over the waters of Bali. However, heavy rain prevented the pilot from making a landing on the runway at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. The extreme rain finally made the pilot decide to take a step back or return to base in Jakarta.
Some passengers made posts about it to their social media accounts.
“There was a lot of noise on the plane, the weather was bad, what can you do. Air officers only carry out their duties according to the rules,” said Mikhayla.
“The important thing is that I’m safe, even though the work is messy, don’t think it’s sustenance,” he continued.
Lion Air on the Makassar-Denpasar route was forced to land at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Citilink airline Jakarta-Denpasar route had to land at Juanda Airport, Surabaya. The charter aircraft for the Jakarta-Denpasar route made a landing at Juanda Airport, Surabaya.
Heavy rain also affected the flight departure schedule from the airport in Kuta District. On Sunday (5/12/2021), there were four flights that had to be delayed.
The four airlines that had to postpone the flight were Super Air Jet, Citilink, Lion Air and Batik Air.
