Two tourists slipped and fell into a ravine while hiking in Kedewatan Village, Ubud District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. They were an Indonesian citizen Lee (56) and a British citizen Lawren (56).
“We received the information at 17:40 from the Head of the Gianyar Regency BPBD Emergency. Then 8 rescue team members were dispatched from the Bali Basarnas Office in Jimbaran,” said Head of the Class A Search and Rescue Office Denpasar, Gede Darmada.
Darmada said the two tourists started hiking from Lungsiakan Village. However, at around 16.00, when they arrived at Kedewatan Village, the victims fell.
Finally, the evacuation process was completed by the joint SAR team at 18.45. After being evacuated, the two of them were taken to the Aricanti Hospital in Mas Village, Ubud District using an Indonesian Red Cross ambulance in Gianyar Regency.
“Both of them are safe, but have suffered injuries. The foreigner has abrasions while the other victim is thought to have broken a bone in his left hand,” said Gede Darmada.
