The arrival of passengers at Gusti Ngurah Rai I International Airport, Tuban Subdistrict, Kuta District, dropped off.
The decline in domestic passenger arrivals has been seen in the last three days, whereas previously it had reached around 13,000 in a day. Based on data from PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), the number of domestic passenger arrivals had reached tens of thousands as of November 24, 2021. At that time, 11,318 people were entering Bali through Ngurah Rai Airport. That number also increased again the next day with the number of 12,647 people.
On November 26, 2021, the number rose to 13,611 people in a day.
However, in the following days, the number of domestic arrivals declines. Starting from 9,720 people on November 27, 2021, then 9,289 people on November 28, 2021, and 8,041 people on November 29, 2021.
Despite the decline in arrivals, the number of domestic departures increased. If seen since November 26, 2021, 10,822 people left Bali from Ngurah Rai Airport, then 11,403 people on November 27, 2021, and rose again to 15,027 on November 28, 2021. But then, on November 29, 2021, it was 10,971 people.
Stakeholder Relations Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Taufan Yudhistira, admitted that there was a decline. It is undeniable that this is related to government policies as an effort to prevent and overcome Covid-19 at Christmas and New Year (Nataru). “According to previous experiences, such a possibility exists. But I don’t think it will be too significant,” he said, Tuesday (11/30).
He hopes that, despite the decline in domestic arrivals in the past three days, at the beginning of this month they can reach tens of thousands again. “Hopefully in December it will rise again,” hoped Taufan.
Asked about international flights, Taufan confirmed that until now the application for flight slots is still empty. “So far, no submissions have been made. However, we are ready if there are airlines that apply for flight slots. At Ngurah Rai Airport, various health protocols have been prepared, this is to support the government’s efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19, “he said.
