The appearance of a crocodile (Crocodylus Porosus, Estuary Crocodile) in Lebih village on Monday afternoon, June 21, at about 11.19 in the morning alarmed the residents.

A crocodile 2 meters long and supposedly about 1,5 years old was found by one of the fishermen. As a result of the hunt, which took place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the crocodile has not been caught.

I Ketut Budiavan, who met the crocodile, admitted that he was shocked when he saw a huge reptile by the river, enjoying the sun. At first, he thought it was a lizard, but then he realized that the animal was too big.

Officers from the Gianyar District Emergency Management Agency and specialists from the Safari Park were dispatched to the site by the river. Around 9.13 am on Tuesday, the crocodile was again spotted by the river.

The head of the Bali Natural Resources Conservation Center, Sulistio Widodo, suggested that the crocodile found in the river was domestic since crocodiles were not found in the wild in Bali. And, perhaps, someone kept this crocodile at home and then released it.

Traps are being set and the crocodile is being searched for. Residents of Lebih village are urged to be careful and not approach the river.
