Instagram celebrity Jack Morris (@doyoutravel) posted a video in his profile about paying a rather large sum for parking his car at Bali airport.
“9.6 mil IDR… niceeeeee. (That’s around 670 USD). I wasn’t expecting this much tbh. Quite shocked,” the man wrote.
The uploaded check shows that Jack paid Rs 9.640.000 for the parking. The amount consists of the penalty for the lost coupon (Rs 100.000), fare A (Rs 7.680.000), and premium B (Rs 1.860.000).
The foreigner has parked his car at Ngurah Rai Airport for two months, from April 1, 2021, 12:52 pm to May 1, 2021, at 21:55.
Bali International Airport Stakeholder Relations Manager, Taufan Yudhistira, confirmed that the said foreigner did indeed park at the airport for 2 months at the stated rates.
Parking at Bali International Airport is Rs 4.000 for a two-wheeled vehicle for the first 12 hours. After 12 hours, two-wheeled vehicles will be charged Rs 2.000 per hour. Thus, parking the bike for a day will cost 28.000 rupees.
The cost of parking a four-wheeled vehicle is Rs 10.000 for the first hour. And after the first hour, a fee of 5.000 is charged for each hour. Thus, parking a car for a day will cost 125.000 rupees.
For a six-wheeled vehicle, the first hour of parking costs 15.000 rupees. Further, 5.000 rupees are charged per hour. That is, parking a six-wheeled vehicle will cost Rs 130.000.
The airport charges an additional 30.000 rupees for the use of premium parking.
If the owner of the vehicle loses the parking ticket, he is obliged to pay a fine of 50.000 rupees for a bike and 100.000 rupees for a car.
Parking rates are valid for 24 hours and are updated after 24 hours. For example, if the bike is parked for more than 24 hours, then 12 hours will be counted again for 4.000 rupees and after that, 2.000 rupees will be charged again for each subsequent hour.
The airport system automatically calculates the cost of parking depending on the type of vehicle, the number of days and hours of parking, and the use of premium or regular parking.
