The government continues to prepare for the opening of Bali for foreign tourists.
The minister of tourism and creative economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that the opening of Bali is a pilot for the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) project. Three areas in Bali will become special areas for foreign tourists in this program.
“We are still doing preparations for the revitalization of tourism in Bali for foreign tourists, which is projected in June or July in accordance with President Jokowi’s directives,” said Sandiaga Uno in a weekly journalists’ meeting, Wednesday (2/6/2021).
“The province of Bali offers a safe zoning approach to travel as a trial for Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) in three areas that are green zones, namely Nusa Dua, Sanur, and Ubud,” he added.
Sandiaga Uno said that the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) can only be realized if the spread of Covid-19 infection cases decreases to a minimum. If the infection rate increases, the program will be reviewed.
“We can achieve this if the number of Covid-19 cases is reduced to a minimum. If it is more conducive, the TCA plan can be implemented. On the other hand, if the development of Covid-19 cases increases, it will be reviewed,” he said.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will continue to ensure that 3T program (Testing, Tracing, Treatment) is being further promoted.
Also, Covid-19 vaccinations, especially for creative economy workers, are increasingly being performed to protect the creative tourism sector.
“Indonesia itself through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also establishing unilateral cooperation with market-focused countries, especially those with TCAs with Indonesia, as well as potential market countries that are successful in handling pandemics and returning non-restrictive policies,” said Sandi.
“We want this Travel Corridor Arrangement to be based on facts and data so that later the Covid-19 pandemic can be completely controlled,” added the minister.
