The progress of vaccination in Bali is going quite fast. Until mid-May 2021, 900 thousand people have received the vaccine.
Of the 900 thousand, 300 thousand of them have received complete doses of the vaccine, namely the first and second stages.
“Referring to the number of the population targeted for vaccination, the population vaccinated has exceeded 25 percent. Meanwhile, the national average is still below 7 percent, ” said Bali Deputy Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati.
He further explained that currently, Bali has obtained a total supply of 2 million doses of vaccine. The central and regional governments continue to strive to control the spread of Covid-19.
What is exciting is that the addition of positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Bali as of May 10, 2021, has been controlled to a figure below 100.
On May 10, the number of confirmed positive people was 74 people with the number of cures reaching 116 people.
Deputy Governor hopes that the spread of Covid-19 can still be controlled so that the opening of international borders can be carried out according to schedule, namely July 2021.
Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati reminded the public to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols even though they had received a complete dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
He emphasized that vaccination does not 100 percent guarantee that a person will avoid exposure to the virus. People who have been fully vaccinated will avoid severe symptoms.
In addition, they also have the potential to spread the virus to people who have not received vaccinations and people with comorbidities.
“I ask not to be careless, to remain vigilant by implementing the health protocol,” said Deputy Governor.
