All tourist attractions in Bali will remain open when the Eid homecoming (Mudik) prohibition from 6-17 May 2021. But tourists from outside the area, are prohibited from visiting Bali.

“Tourism in Bali will not be closed, hotel restaurants, tourism objects will remain open as usual, but tourists from outside Bali heading to Bali are prohibited,” said Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace), Monday (26/4/2021).

Cok Ace said that the rules for prohibiting foreign tourist visits during the Eid homecoming ban were based on the situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This is a provision made by the central government, taking into account the various possibilities that may occur due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” he explained.

When asked whether the Bali provincial government accepted this provision, Cok Ace admitted that his party still wanted the tourism door in Bali to be open to domestic tourists during the Eid homecoming.

However, due to broader considerations from the central government, he admitted that he had to follow these provisions.

“Bali wants an exception for tourism, but if the government considers broader matters, of course, we have to follow,” he said.
