Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno stated that the opening of limited travel ( travel bubble ) in Bali, Bintan, and Batam (3B) is targeted to start in June 2021. However, for the implementation of this policy, the government will look at the Covid-19 situation in the region.

“It is targeted that in June-July, according to President Jokowi’s direction. But we see that the Covid 19 number will determine. If it is controlled and in a conducive position, of course, we can realize it,” said Sandi, Saturday ( 17/4).

He explained that currently, the travel bubble discussion in the 3B area is entering the finalization stage. Such as the discussion about vaccination in the area and the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA).

TCA itself is a program of the Indonesian government in collaboration with other countries to re-open tourism amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Also seeing the readiness of the tourism country starting from Singapore, to several countries we talked to,” said Sandi.

Apart from 3B, Sandi admitted that he had received input from other regions to become candidates for the next travel bubble. Among them are Belitung, Yogyakarta and Lake Toba.

“It also wants to be included in the TCA table. But of course, it is necessary, like Labuan Bajo, it is simpler because it is separated from the others, but for other areas, we have to make sure we can create a green zone. This is what we will discuss together with stakeholders. other, “he said.

To date, there are 10 to 12 million tourism actors in Indonesia. According to him, there are three backbone destinations, namely Bali, Jabodetabek, and Riau Islands for the reception of foreign tourists.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is working with the Ministry of Health and other parties to vaccinate tourism actors in various regions. Bali is one of the priority areas for vaccination.

“The target, in my opinion, is the result of discussions with the Minister of Health and with the direction of the president, for Bali, we want it before June-July, but we also prioritize Jabodetabek and Jogja. We want this to be done in the not too long time, in the next six months,” said Uno.
