Bali Provincial Government completed Covid-19 vaccination in 3 green zones of Nusa Dua Area (South Kuta District, Badung), Sanur Area (South Denpasar District), and Ubud Area (Ubud District, Gianyar), Monday (5/5).
Furthermore, vaccinations will be directed to the tourist areas of Kuta (Badung), Tanah Lot (Tabanan), and Nusa Penida (Klungkung).
“After completing the 3 green zones, the vaccination plan will be extended to other tourist areas. From Nusa Dua, we can go to tourist areas like Kuta,” said the head of the Bali Provincial Health Office, Dr. I Ketut Suarjaya.
According to Suarjaya, the tourist area of Kuta, Kuta District, Badung is also on the same route as Nusa Dua. So, the Kuta tourist area will be checked again for its vaccine needs. From the initial estimates, the Kuta tourist area requires around 22.000 doses of vaccine.
Suarjaya said that previously there were also many tourism workers and hotel employees in Kuta who had been vaccinated. Likewise, the elderly and public servants in Kuta have received vaccinations.
“With the expansion of vaccination to Kuta, the opportunity to accelerate opening-up Bali to foreign tourist visits will be realized more quickly. Of course, this vaccination must be strengthened with a disciplined health protocol, so that the international community believes Bali is truly safe to visit, “said Suarjaya.
Suarjaya also said that the expansion of vaccination could be initiated to other tourist areas in Bali, such as Tanah Lot and Nusa Penida, all of which are still being studied.
“It depends on the regency/city proposal to the Governor of Bali. Currently, the one who has proposed verbally is Klungkung Regency, which plans to vaccinate the Nusa Penida area. Likewise, Tabanan Regency, which plans to vaccinate the Tanah Lot area,” explained Suarjaya.
Currently, the vaccine supply in Bali, said Suarjaya, is still safe. This week, the Bali provincial government plans to receive 200.000 doses of vaccine from the central government.
“If 200.000 arrives this week, our supply of vaccines will increase. So, the expansion of vaccination in the tourism area proposed by regencies/cities will be quickly realized, “he said.
Meanwhile, based on data submitted by Bali Deputy Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) while monitoring the vaccination of financial and banking industry workers at the Bali Regional Development Bank (BPD) Office, Niti Mandala Denpasar, Saturday (3/4) afternoon, it was revealed that vaccination in the green zone of the Ubud and Sanur areas was 100 percent.
“For the Ubud area, the target of vaccination for 46.000 targets has been completed. The Sanur area, which is targeted 26.000 citizens, has also been completed. Meanwhile for the Nusa Dua area, out of the lowest 86.000 targets, vaccinations have reached 67.000 targets,” said Cok Ace on Saturday (3/4/2021).
According to Cok Ace, vaccination in the 3 green zones has made the Bali Provincial Government more optimistic that proposing to open Bali tourism for foreign tourists will soon be realized.
“This correlation will smoothen our plan to open foreign tourists to Bali, according to the original expectations and schedule, namely July 2021,” Cok Ace.
