Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno revealed that several tourist destinations experienced a surge in tourists during the Easter 2021 holiday.

“In connection with yesterday’s Easter holidays, we monitored at several points such as leading tourism destinations and the backbone of Bali, around Jabodetabek, and Batam, Bintan, Riau showing an increasing number,” he said on Monday (5/4/2021).

For Bali, Sandiaga said that in the two days leading up to Easter, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport accepted 8.000 arrivals per day.

However, this number is increasing with the arrival from Gilimanuk Port.

“It encourages us, our enthusiasm, and this is the hope that tourism will rise,” he said.

In a press statement given by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Saturday (3/4/2021), Sandiaga said that the recovery of the tourism sector in Bali was getting closer to normal before the Covid-19 pandemic. He revealed that he is targeting 3.600 domestic passengers per day to Bali.

“In the last month, I targeted 3.600 internally per day domestic travel passengers in Bali. But last month there were 4.500 domestic arrivals. This means that it is above the target of 900 people or 30 percent, “said Sandiaga.

Regarding the number of domestic visitors in Bali, he also said that currently, this is half what it was before the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Today, domestic visits to Ngurah Rai Bali for the last two days are 8.000 visitors. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, there were 16.000 people. This means that this figure is half what it was before the Covid-19 pandemic, “he said.
