Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Uno is still finalizing the stage of finalizing plans to open tourism destinations in Indonesia, especially Bali to receive foreign tourists.
Even though in June or July 2021, the opening of international borders will be carried out by the Government of Indonesia, later foreign tourists will only be able to travel in designated green zones in Bali.
This was conveyed by Minister Sandiaga on Tuesday (30/3). He explained that the government’s plan to open the gates for foreign tourists in passing the finalization stage.
The plan continues to be finalized in ministerial and institutional level meetings before being proposed to the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
“For Bali, through the tourism scheme stipulated in the Travel Bubble or Travel Corridor Arrangement, foreign tourists can do activities only in predetermined places in the green zone of Bali Province,” he said.
Sandiaga Uno said that the purpose of this scheme is to minimize foreign tourists’ contacts outside the green zones. There are only 3 green zones in Bali, namely Ubud, Sanur, and Nusa Dua.
Minister added, that his party was also reviewing the electronic visa or e-visa approach for business and tourist visits.
He added, regarding the policy of foreign tourists who have been vaccinated, they will be obliged to quarantine before traveling to the green zone, both during the process of arrival and return.
Until now, vaccinations for the community, including tourism workers, traders, and residents in the 3 green zones, are being performed very actively.
So that the opening of Bali for the international door can take place in the upcoming June / July 2021.
