“But we are evaluating the regulation again because now we are trying to get to next month we can vaccinate 1,8 million people or close to 2 million. From April to May we can add 1 million people so that in July our hope has been formed herd immunity and Bali becomes a green zone, “said Luhut in a press release, on Monday (29/3/2021).
With the formation of group immunity, he hopes that Bali can immediately open access to foreign tourists, even though domestic tourists are also encouraged to increase it. Luhut said the government made policies to diversify the economy so that Bali’s economy was more resilient to shocks.
That’s why the government is also preparing short and medium-term policies in this sector. The government has also started reviewing the implementation of a 5-year visa for foreign nationals.
“After we conduct a study, we will implement this policy shortly so that it can encourage the growth of the tourism sector, for example with the work from Bali,” he concluded.
Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Dodi Budi Waluyo said that Bank Indonesia sees that the economic prospect of the tourism sector will improve in 2021. Optimism is formed from national vaccinations.
Dodi estimates that with the current vaccination strategy carried out by the government in the first quarter of 2022, herd immunity will be formed.
