Singapore Airlines to open Singapore-Bali route in May

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno revealed the results of his meeting with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan in Jakarta, Thursday (25/4).

One of them is related to the plan of the Singapore Airlines airline to return to serve the Singapore-Bali flight route in May.

“I asked the Foreign Minister (Vivian Balakrishnan) that I got a post on social media that Singapore (Airlines) will reopen the Bali-Singapore route in May. And diplomatically, the Foreign Minister said yes,” he said in a Weekly Press Briefing, Thursday (25/4/2021).

Sandiaga said the flight itself would still be regular. With a schedule of twice per day during the trial period.

Previously, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said that the government continues to discuss the Travel Safe Corridor program in Bali. “So last week we had a coordination meeting with the Governor of Bali and the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu),” Sandiaga said while reviewing the Covid-19 vaccination at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport with Bali Governor Wayan Koster, Monday (22/3).

The team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established communication until the final stage with several countries. “The team from the Minister of Foreign Affairs has held the final stage of talks with several countries that will become countries of origin for the safe travel corridor or Travel Corridor Arrangement,” he said.

Sandiaga hopes that the communication has entered the finalization stage. So that later it remains to be decided in a limited coordination meeting with President Joko Widodo.

“We hope that this will enter into the finalization stage and the President will decide in a limited coordination meeting,” he said.
