The Bali Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) arrested six people from a network of dealers in Bali.
From the hands of the dealers, 30 kilograms of marijuana were confiscated.
“The Bali Provincial BNN Eradication Sector has taken action against the illicit narcotics trafficking network for the period March 1-10 with a network of 30 kilograms of evidence as cannabis,” said the Head of BNNP Bali, I Putu Gede Suastawa, at a press conference at his office on Friday (26/3/2021).
Suastawa said the first in the network was musician Frederikus Kristian Sabin Tada Lewar and surfer Fachri Lailan alias Ncek.
From the hands of these two actors, BNNP Bali received 1,960.5 grams of cannabis and one tree as high as 60 cm.
The perpetrator Frederikus Kristian Sabin Tada Lewar was arrested on Jalan Nusa Indah, Sumerta Urban Village, East Denpasar District, Denpasar City on Monday (1/3) at 16.00 WITA. Meanwhile, a surfer named Ncek was arrested on the same day at Jalan Uwulatu, Ungasan Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency at around 18.30.
The next network was revealed among travelers on behalf of Andri Margara Manurung alias Andrew. From the hands of this traveler, BNNP Bali secured 718.42 grams of marijuana. The perpetrator was initially arrested during an interdiction operation, BNPP Bali obtained marijuana at a courier service company.
“The package was delivered by a courier and then handed over by the owner of the package on behalf of Andrew. As for the modus operandi, the package was disguised as being wrapped in used clothes,” explained Suastawa.
There is also a member of North Sumatra-Bali network of surfers in Kuta named John Christian Hasiholan Panggabean. From this surfer, 1,433.9 grams of marijuana were obtained. The perpetrator was arrested on Jalan Sunset Road, Seminyak Village, Kuta District, Badung Regency on Thursday (4/3) at around 16.00.
Finally, 30 kg of marijuana was obtained from Yulis Siswanto alias Mbing and Nur Moch Kosim alias Kosim. Both are painters who distribute marijuana in the North Sumatra-Banyuwangi-Bali network.
From this network, BNNP Bali secured about 25 kg of marijuana.
From the results of this arrest, BNNP Bali accused the perpetrators of violation of Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 111 paragraph (2) and Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. The threat of punishment for a minimum of six years and a maximum of 20 years.
