Vaccination in the Ubud District, Gianyar Regency, is planned to be monitored directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on Tuesday (16/3).

Before the arrival of President Jokowi, last Friday (12/3), Bali Governor Wayan Koster and Deputy Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati accompanied RI Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin to review the readiness of the vaccination site.

As confirmed by the Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office, Dr. Ketut Suarjaya explained that his party had prepared all kinds of needs in the vaccination.

To be more optimal, he also coordinated with the Gianyar Regency Government. Moreover, those who will be vaccinated when directly monitored by the president come from various groups of society.

Meanwhile, the first location to be monitored by the Minister of Health a few days ago was polyclinic Puskesmas 1 Ubud, then the Ubud Village Office, and Ubud Palace.

Vaccinations will be centered in Ubud Palace.

“Everything is ready,” added Dr. Suarjaya.

With the intensification of the Covid-19 vaccination for the community, it is hoped that it will soon be possible to restore the Indonesian economy, especially Bali.

During the monitoring in Ubud, Budi Gunadi Sadikin conveyed that Indonesia and Bali in particular are preparing to open tourism in 2022.

Ubud and two other locations in Bali will become pilot projects for foreign tourists to visit. Due to the consideration of the Covid-19 pandemic, Bali tourism cannot be opened quickly.

Budi Gunadi Sadikin also understands, the community and tourism actors hope that Bali will be opened quickly for foreign tourism, but they must consider this pandemic situation.

Furthermore, to gain international trust, Bali is obliged to properly implement the Covid-19 prevention health protocol.

The head of the Gianyar Health Service, Ida Komang Upeksa, said that the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowi, would directly witness the vaccinations of 650 of tourism workers.

“For tomorrow a total of 650 people will be vaccinated, all preparations have been completed. Vaccines are ready, personnel is ready, everything is ready,” said Komang Upeksa, on Monday (15/3/2021).

He continued, because of President Jokowi’s arrival, several roads in Ubud District would be closed starting at 9:00 a.m. to avoid crowds. Not only that, the 650 people who will be vaccinated are divided into two groups, namely one in Ubud Palace and the other in the central parking lot of Monkey Forest Ubud.

He said that apart from tourism workers, religious leaders, cultural figures, and other groups would also be vaccinated.

“Because the purpose of this vaccination is to create Ubud free of Covid-19, along with Sanur and Nusa Dua. And the hope of the minister of health and tourism can be opened from Ubud to Bali and Indonesia,” said Ida Komang Upeksa.
