The government extends the Enactment of Restrictions on Micro-scale Community Activities (PPKM) to March 22, 2021, by expanding it to three provinces outside Java and Bali.

This policy is contained in the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 05 of 2021 which was published on Thursday (4/3).

In the instruction, PPKM Mikro will be held until the regions show improvement in the situation with COVID-19. The government will revoke the PPKM Mikro status if the local situation shows an improvement during 6 weeks.

“The implementation of the Micro PPKM will be extended from March 9, 2021, to March 22, 2021,” states the fifteenth point of the instruction.

One of the differences from the first Micro PPKM program is the addition of several provinces. The provinces of North Sumatra, East Kalimantan, and South Sulawesi will participate in implementing PPKM Mikro this time.

This time, PPKM Micro is implemented in all areas of DKI Jakarta. Then PPKM Mikro will also be held in Bogor Regency, Bekasi Regency, Cimahi City, Bogor City, Kita Depok, Kita Bekasi, and the Greater Bandung area in West Java.

In Central Java, restrictions are placed in the cities of Surakarta, Semarang Raya, and Banyumas Raya. In Banten, restrictions apply in Tangerang District, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City.

The restrictions in the Special Region of Yogyakarta include Yogyakarta City, Bantul Regency, Gunungkidul Regency, Sleman Regency and Kulon Progo Regency.

Then PPKM Micro was carried out in East Java covering the Greater Surabaya, Madiun Raya and Malang Raya areas. In Bali, the restrictions apply in Badung Regency, Gianyar Regency, Klungkung Regency, Tabanan Regency and Denpasar City.

The restrictions imposed on PPKM Mikro this time are still the same. For example, 50 percent of office employees work from home. The restaurants can accommodate a maximum of 50 percent of the customers who eat on the spot. The shopping centers must be closed at 21.00.

Teaching and learning activities are also still being carried out at home. Places of worship can only be filled on 50 percent.

Several essential sectors are allowed to operate 100 percent. Construction activities can also run 100 percent during PPKM Mikro.
