Two foreign citizens were arrested by the police when they were about to enter Bali. They were secured because they faked the results of the PCR test.
These two foreigners are Dimitri Anokh (42) from Russia and Olena Mukh (25) from Ukraine.
“Both are still being investigated,” said Karangasem Police Chief, Ni Nyoman Suartini, on Thursday (4/3/2021).
Dimitri and Olena were secured shortly after getting off the ferry at Padangbai Harbor, Karangasem, Tuesday (2/3/2021) at around 09.00. Both of them came from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
At the integrated post, both of them showed a certificate of the PCR test results for SARS COV-2 issued by Siloam Medica Hospital, Canggu, Badung.
During the inspection, the officer found irregularities between the issuance time and the registration number of the certificate. The officer then contacted the hospital and received confirmation that it had never issued the letter.
The two eastern European foreigners claimed to have received the PCR test result letter from a person named Steve when he was leaving for Bali.
Until now, Dimitri and Olena are still being detained at the Karangasem Police.
“We are still trying to communicate with the embassy concerned,” said Suartini.
