Balinese people will experience a rare phenomenon in the sky on February 26 and 27, 2021.
This will happen in all areas of Bali.
This phenomenon occurs when the sun is right at the highest position in the sky or is called the culmination.
“The culmination is when the sun is right above our heads, and it happens twice a year, in February and September in Bali,” said the Head of Sub-Division for the Collection and Distribution of the Center for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Region III Denpasar, Dwi Hartanto.
This culmination phenomenon causes the shadow of an upright object to disappear because it overlaps with the object itself.
The main culmination day is also known as a Shadowless Day or Zero Shadow Day.
For Denpasar, Gianyar, Tabanan, Klungkung, and Bangli areas it will occur on February 26, 2021.
Meanwhile, for Karangasem, Jembrana, and Singaraja areas it will occur on February 27, 2021.
Residents have nothing to worry about regarding this phenomenon.
The average temperature will not increase because it is the rainy season.
“For the current condition, it is not too affected because of the rainy season. However, for September it can be hotter, but not extremely,” explained Dwi.
