An earthquake with a magnitude (M) 4.3 occurred in South Kuta District, Bali. The earthquake did not cause a tsunami potential.
BMKG reported that the earthquake occurred on Tuesday (23/2/2021) at 21.09 West Indonesia Time. The coordinates of the earthquake are 9.48 South Latitude and 115.54 East Longitude.
The earthquake centered in the sea with a distance of 83 km southeast of South Kuta District. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 37 km.
Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) reported the earthquake could be felt up to the MMI III scale in Central Lombok and West Lombok. The earthquake was also felt in Kuta and Mataram on the MMI II scale.
The MMI III scale means that the vibration is felt real in the house and the vibration is felt as if a truck has passed. Meanwhile, MMI II means that vibrations are felt by several people, and light objects that are hung sway.
