Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto decided to extend the Enactment of Restrictions on Micro-Community Activities ( PPKM ) on 23 February-8 March.
“This PPKM is decided for the next two weeks, namely February 23 to March 8, 2021,” Airlangga said in a virtual press conference, Saturday (20/2).
Previously, the government implemented Micro PPKM from 9-22 February 2021 after PPKM in several Java-Bali regions from 11 January to 8 February occurred to be not effective in suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
Previously, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) claimed that a week of the Java-Bali Micro-Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) period had brought some good news in the development of the coronavirus case in Indonesia.
The Task Force detailed that in the past week there had been a decrease in active cases of Covid-19, a decrease in the level of occupied hospital beds, to an increase in public compliance with the Covid-19 health protocol.
“Active cases decline can show the number of transmissions has decreased in the community. And it is proven that the rate of cases is not much moderate and severe so that the occupancy of hospital beds tends to decrease,” said Wiku Adisasmito, spokesman for the Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday (16/2).
