The influencer, who is also the daughter of former world number 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Alesya Kafelnikova, has been criticized. The Russian celebrity posed naked on an elephant in Bali.

Alesya uploaded a short video with a naked pose on a Sumatran elephant on Instagram @kafelnikova_a on February 13. She gave the caption with the short sentence ‘Natural Atmosphere’.

She set Bali as the location for the video. The video was viewed 175 thousand times and received mixed responses from netizens.

Some praised her mission to keep elephants in the wild. But, others criticized it for cruelty to elephants.

“This is not a cool act, leave the elephant and use a chair or something else. This is a cruel act.”

“Why be naked? Do you think if you are naked everyone is interested in seeing you? How does this elephant deserve to have dirt on it.”

“It’s part of the act of animal torture.”

According to her Instagram statement, Alesya is in Bali for work. She works for the Balistarz agency.

The Bali Provincial Tourism Office informed that it will trace the video.

“We’ll check first, whether it’s true in Bali or not,” said the Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office Putu Astawa on Wednesday (17/2/2021).

“Let me first confirm whether this image is a new picture or an old picture or it happened in Bali or where we need to confirm first,” he continued.

Putu regretted this incident. According to him, what Alesya Kafelnikov did was not in line with Bali’s tourism culture.

“Bali tourism is culture-based tourism which is inspired by the Tri Hita Karana philosophy (spiritual concepts, local wisdom, and the life philosophy of the Balinese Hindu community) which always upholds local wisdom so that if there is a video like that it is certainly not in line with the norms that exist,” said Putu.

According to Putu, Alesya Kafelnikov’s action could build a bad image for the world of tourism in Bali.
