The efforts of the Bali Police to uncover the murder case of a woman from Subang, West Java at a homestay in Denpasar, finally came to light on Friday, February 12, 2021.

The victim is known to be Dwi Farica Lestari, 23 years old. She was found dead in room number 1 on the 2nd floor of a homestay on Jalan Tukad Batanghari, Panjer, Denpasar City.

The alleged perpetrator occurred to be Wahyu Dwi Setyawan (23) from Krajan Hamlet, Sumberejo Village, Jember Regency, East Java.

Regarding the results of this disclosure, the Head of Criminal Investigation of the South Denpasar Police, AKP Hadimastika, confirmed this.

Residents on Jalan Tukad Batanghari, Panjer, Denpasar, were shocked by the murder case that occurred at the homestay, Saturday (16/1) around 02.30 a.m.

The victim was found lying on her stomach on the floor without clothes. Her neck, floor, and mattress were covered with blood.

The case was reported to the South Denpasar Police and assisted by the Denpasar Police.

Before the incident, the alleged perpetrator was known to live on Jalan Pulau Kawe, Pedungan, Denpasar.

This man, who already had a wife, was suspected of murder because he wanted to get the belongings of the victim.

The alleged perpetrator started communicating with Dwi Farica Lestari through a short message application.

Wahyu Dwi Setyawan arrived at the house of Dwi Farica Lestari in the morning.

Based on CCTV footage, the perpetrator came to the scene using an online motorcycle taxi helmet (ojol), a red jacket, and jeans.

However, a few moments later, several witnesses at the TKP heard screams from the victim’s room.

At around 02.30 am, the witness and the owner of the homestay were shocked by the news of the unexpected death of the victim.

“It is suspected that after having intercourse, the perpetrator killed the victim,” explained the source.

When traced, it turned out that the alleged perpetrator was not in the location where he came from, but at his wife’s house in Kraton Village, Kencong District, Jember.

It didn’t take long, the police managed to arrest the suspected perpetrator at his wife’s place on Friday at around 20.00.

The suspect was interrogated regarding the murder case at Jalan Tukad Batanghari, Panjer, Denpasar.

The suspected perpetrator of the murder used a kerambit knife that he carried in his pocket.

“The perpetrator wanted to get the victim’s belongings, such as cell phones and Rp 700,000 in cash,” said a police source.

After killing the victim, the suspected perpetrator fled through the back of the balcony where the victim lived and took her cellphone and wallet containing Rp.700 thousand in cash.

Later, the victim’s cellphone and wallet were dumped by the alleged perpetrator in the river around Jalan Pulau Kawe. Then he fled to his hometown.
