PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) or AP II requires child passengers aged 5 years and over to show a letter of negative covid-19 results at company-managed airports. The rules take effect from 9 February 2021 until an indefinite time.
This is stated in the latest requirements for passenger travel on the company’s domestic routes. The policy is following the Circular (SE) of the Ministry of Transportation Number 19/2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 21/2021 concerning Guidelines for International Travel by Air Transportation during the Pandemic. The two Circulars of the Ministry of Transportation are in line with the SE Task Force for Covid-19 Handling Number 7/2021, SE Task Force for Covid-19 Handling Number 8/2021, and SE Task Force for Covid-19 Handling Number 9/2021.
President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin explained that prospective aircraft passengers must show a negative result of the rapid test polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), the sample is taken within 2×24 hours or the negative result of the antigen rapid test, the sample is taken within 1×24 hours before departure for flights to Bali.
In addition to flights to Bali, prospective aircraft passengers must show a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results, the samples were taken within a maximum period of 3×24 hours, or negative results of the antigen test, which samples were taken within a maximum period of 2×24 hours before departure.
“The requirements for the covid-19 test do not apply to pioneer flights, flights in the 3T (lagging, frontier, outermost) area, or child passengers under 5 years of age,” explained Awaluddin in an official statement.
In addition to showing a negative covid-19 test result, during a flight of fewer than 2 hours the airplane passengers are not allowed to eat and drink, except for passengers who are required to consume drugs for treatment which if not carried out could endanger safety and health.
